WORLD PANEL COUNCILS EXPLAINED

HN WORLD PANEL Councils are dedicated groups of experts that work with HN to guide the direction of conversations within a specific World Panel. Council members help shape the editorial agenda by suggesting timely and relevant topics, contributing ideas for new viewpoints, and ensuring that the panel remains a dynamic and forward-thinking platform for industry insight. The council's involvement helps elevate the dialogue and ensure it reflects the most pressing opportunities and challenges currently facing the hospitality industry.

COUNCIL COMPOSITION:

  • Council Chair

  • Two hoteliers (brand, group, or independent hotelier)

  • Two domain experts (consultants or academics)

  • One Industry vendor/supplier representative

  • Council consists of a minimum of six members, with a maximum of 10

  • Council members' term is for a minimum of one year, with a term limit of 3 years


COUNCIL ACTIVITIES:

DEFINE AN ANNUAL CALENDAR OF WORLD PANEL VIEWPOINTS

  • Identify key topics and themes that deserve coverage on a World Panel

  • Translate key issues, trends, and themes into an annual schedule of viewpoints

  • Define and schedule dates for at least six viewpoints per year

AUTHORING OF WORLD PANEL VIEWPOINTS

  • Assigns champs (fellow council members) responsible for authoring upcoming viewpoints.

WORLD PANEL WEBINARS (optional)

  • If judged relevant by council members, viewpoints can be combined with a related live webinar.

  • Council members can participate either as a panelist or as a moderator

  • Council members assist in sourcing knowledgeable panelists

SOURCING OF NEW PANEL EXPERTS

  • Council members assist in the ongoing process of sourcing and suggesting knowledgeable new panel experts.

SEMI-ANNUAL MEETINGS

  • Members meet in scheduled semi-annual Zoom/Google calls (twice a year)

  • Otherwise, councils communicate via email or a dedicated WhatsApp group

COUNCIL's ANNUAL HOSPITALITY TREND INDEX (optional)

  • Suggest, deliberate & agree on an annually published TOP-10 trends report

  • Participate and get recognition by authoring parts of the index

INDUSTRY RECOGNITION

  • Council members recognized in HN World Panel

  • Council member recognized in author HN profile

  • Council member recognition in a dedicated LinkedIn group
